Impressed by Wordpress? Well, here is some news that might burst your bubble...

Some news has come to light suggesting that Wordpress sites might not be all they are cracked up to be, or at least not as secure. Fox News published an article yesterday, "Wordpress Sites Blocked by Google After Malware Attack."

According to Fox News, the virus is specifically targeting a type of website plugin available to wordpress sites. Sounds like the virus is pretty nasty too. It is enough to cause google to block over 11,000 sites from search results pages simply because they have the plugin. That is a very scary thought for business owners who depend on their great rankings.

" The malware campaign has been dubbed SoakSoak because it causes some infected websites to redirect visitors to a malicious website at  soaksoak.ru. In an attempt to curb the infections, Google has blacklisted over 11,000 affected WordPress domains, according to Menifee, California-based security company Sucuri." -Fox News

At Virtual Vision, we use our own proprietary software to build all of our client's websites. One of the advantages of doing this is that we are in control of the programming and are a lot less vulnerable to outside interference (i.e. Viruses). We are also in charge of the core file updates which means that we are constantly updating the framework of your site; no need to worry about outdated software.
